Bob Love
* Chicago, Illinois
“If It's Gonna Be It's Up To Me”

Bob Love's inspirational presentation, based on his own life story, will remind Forum participants that they are in charge of their own destiny. His experiences in overcoming a severe handicap will inspire everyone to be leaders in overcoming adversity and encouraging others to do the same.

Bob grew up in near poverty with thirteen siblings in a small Louisiana town. Constant practice helped him reach his boyhood dream of being a professional basketball player. He became a 3-time NBA All-Star with the Chicago Bulls and one of the greatest players in Bulls history. Despite his outstanding play, a lifelong stuttering problem prevented him from enjoying the endorsement opportunities and other off-court benefits of being an NBA star. Seven years after his career was ended by a back injury, he found himself working as a dishwasher. At age 45, Bob began working with a speech therapist who helped him learn how to speak. Since 1992, he has earned his living speaking as Director of Community Relations for the Bulls. His courage has been recognized with a variety of awards and, in 1994, the Bulls retired his #10 jersey
